NOTICE OF PAVING

Notice of Paving
Cosma Road, Pleasant Heights Drive, Wedgewood Drive, King Arthur Road, Guinevere Road, Merlin Drive, Lyman Wheelock Road, Scotch Dam Road, and Sonja Maria Way Paving Project

As part of the Town of Easton's ongoing pavement management program, the resurfacing of portions of the streets listed above is scheduled to begin Wednesday May 18th. Motorists should expect delays and seek alternate routes during this time. Police Details will be on scene to assist and direct traffic through and around the work zones.

Beginning May 18th through May 20th the first phase of work will involve the milling of the existing roadway surface. Following the milling, the DPW will begin repairing sections of sidewalks and curbing as needed on each road. The resurfacing work involves the installation of two separate roadway treatments. The installation of the first treatment will follow later this spring/summer. This first treatment is a stress absorbing interlayer known as "rubber chip seal." This treatment involves the installation of a layer of stone chips embedded in asphalt. This will not be the final surface of the road. A second treatment, which will follow shortly after the first treatment, will be a conventional warm mix asphalt overlay.

These two treatments combined will provide a new wearing surface and significantly extend the life of the road. Thank you for your patience as we make improvements to the Town of Easton's roadways. If you have any questions, please contact the Department of Public Works at (508) 230-0800 or dfield at easton.ma.us<mailto:dfield at easton.ma.us>.
