Now through April 7, 2018: Emergency Certification to Cleanup and Repair Storm Damage in Wetland Areas
Due to the recent storms, the Easton Conservation Commission voted on Monday, March 5, 2018 to allow, for the next 30 days, the removal of felled trees from properties adjacent to town-owned land managed by the Conservation Commission and within wetland resource areas. Structures may be repaired to pre-storm conditions. Clean discharges from flooded buildings may be discharged into wetland areas; storm water management systems may be cleared, repaired but not expanded; and other activities of comparable scope to protect public health and safety.  Notify Andrea Langhauser, the Easton Environmental Planner, of needed storm repair so she can inspect the properties. April 4:  Voter Registration Deadline - Annual Town Election
Wednesday, April 4th is the deadline to register to vote for the upcoming Annual Town Election that will be held on Tuesday, April 24th from 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM. Tuesday's - Ames Free Library Hosts Story Times for Infants and Toddlers
Have you met our new Children's Librarian, Jessica?  She hosts story times for infants and toddlers. Come check out Wiggle Worms each Tuesday from 10:30 - 11. This weekly event is for mobile toddlers! And we know that at this time of year, you all need to get those little ones MOVING. Wiggle Worms is a fast-paced story time with songs, rhymes, and stories to keep them occupied! This a great way to engage busy bodies with early literacy and opportunities for play. Crawlers and pre-walkers are also welcome. This program will run for about 20 minutes, followed by a playtime with toys that encourage both social and motor skills. No sign up is required; join us when you can. Event Location: Children's Room, Main Library.
Foster Parent Recruitment for the Department of Children and Families
Is there room in your home and heart for a foster child?  The Department of Children and Families is actively recruiting foster parents for children in Easton coming into care. We are searching for individuals or families with the love and patience to help foster children. You can be single, married, partnered, divorced or widowed. You can own your home or rent. We need homes for children aged 0 to 22, which include sibling groups, children with special needs, medically involved children, and infants born, exposed to drugs and older teens. We are looking for long-term foster homes but also have a need for emergency and respite homes, which involve a shorter time commitment on the part of a foster family. Our goal is to provide our foster children with a supportive and healing environment in a home in their own community until they can be reunited with their families or another plan can be made on their behalf. The rewards of providing daily care, guidance and acceptance are immeasurable. 3rd Tuesday Every Month:  Sewing Machine One-on-One
Have you previously sewn on a sewing machine but find yourself without one?  Not to worry the Ames Free Library has a sewing machine available for your use in the Queset House. Schedule a time with Kathy Korona so that she can introduce you to the Necchi sewing machine. Once you have used the Necchi sewing machine in the 30-minute tutorial you can check out the machine for in library use. February 28 - May 23:  "Free Indeed" at Liberty Baptist Church
Liberty Baptist Church is excited to restart their addictions program called "Free Indeed." This free 12-week program is designed to help people who struggle with addictive behaviors find help and healing from the Word of God. The program begins on Wednesday, February 28 at 6pm, and new class members are invited to come any Wednesday night, even after the program has begun. March 13:  Agricultural Commission Meeting featuring Langwater Farm Talk on Composting
Calling all gardeners! Come to the Easton Agricultural Commission Meeting on March 13th at 7PM to hear our own Kevin O'Dwyer of Langwater Farm speak about composting. Cropping and composting are two of the most important tools in managing soil nutrition on an organic farm. In this talk, Mr. O'Dwyer will cover the benefits of using these tools, plus the logistics of making it happen. That would include planning & decision-making, application calculations, what happens to the soil chemistry, managing phosphorus levels, field prep, and the right equipment to use.

The Agricultural Commission meeting is Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in the Easton Town Hall, 136 Elm Street, North Easton. Meeting starts at 6:30 pm, talk begins at 7:00 pm.
March 13:  Kindergarten Orientation - Easton Public Schools
Parents attend kindergarten orientation at their home school at 7PM. For ALL incoming parents of kindergartners for the 2018-2019 school year. Students must be 5 years old on or before August 31, 2018 to attend kindergarten within the Easton Public Schools. (Parents Only Please)

March 23:  Benefit Concert for Oakes Ames Memorial Hall - Because The Arts Matter
Southeast School of Music of Easton presents 'Because The Arts Matter', a Benefit Concert for Oakes Ames Memorial Hall, Easton Shovel Town Cultural District Performance and Event Center, on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 7:30PM. Oakes Ames Memorial Hall is an iconic example of H.H. Richardson architecture that is in need of repairs and upgrades, so that it can continue its strong role in the community. Southeast Instructors Rich Cesarini and Jack Colombo will be performing. Pianist Rich Cesarini will be playing a set of unplugged acoustic rock-Americana with guitarist Steve George. Rich's performance credits include regional and national groups 'The Terrifics', 'The Jon Finn Band' and 'The Experts' and recording projects. Songs include selections such as Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty. Shovel Town Brewery will be there serving their fantastic locally crafted beer selections. March 24:  Annual Egg Hunt (ages 2-8)

The Recreation Department invites you to hop over to the Town Offices 136 Elm Street, Saturday March 24th, for this exciting event. Don't forget to bring your basket for carrying eggs. There will be separate sections for different age groups and a special visit from the bunny. The hunt begins at 11AM sharp! In case of inclement weather, the rain date is Sunday, March 25th. April 15:  Town of Easton Rabies Clinic
The Town of Easton will be holding a Rabies Clinic on Sunday April 15, 2018. The Clinic will be held at the Easton Police Station, 46 Lothrop St. from 9AM-12PM. Cats from 9:00 am to 10:00 am; Dogs from 10:00 am to Noon. All dogs must be on a leash and cats should be in carriers. The charge for the vaccine is $10.00. Please call Animal Control with any questions at (508) 230-3353.
