Week of March 5:  Bulky Item Pick Up Week
The week of March 5, 2018 will be the next "FREE BULK ITEM" pickup week for Waste Management customers. If you are in our Waste Management program, you can put a large item curbside on your regular trash day to be picked up at no charge to you. Council on Aging
Snow Removal Reference List Applications are now being accepted:  To assist Easton residents who are unable to remove snow from their private property, The Town of Easton keeps a reference list of individuals willing to assist these residents with snow removal. This list is available in the Town Offices and at www.easton.ma.us/snow<http://www.easton.ma.us/snow>. If you are interested in applying to get on this referral list, you can find an application and more information on this webpage.
February 27:  American Legion Post 7 February 2018 Meeting

Free Easton Community
Easton Community Calendars covering September 2017 through August 2018 are now available at the Town Offices, Ames Free Library, Easton Historical Society, Frothingham Memorial Hall, and all Easton branches of North Easton Savings Bank. Town information, school events, and civic organization happenings are included. The FREE calendars are provided by North Easton Savings Bank, for the residents of Easton.
The Public Health Nurse will be available for Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar screening for Easton Residents (on a walk in basis, no appointment needed) according to the following schedule:

Tuesday's - Ames Free Library Hosts Story Times for Infants and Toddlers
Have you met our new Children's Librarian, Jessica?  She hosts story times for infants and toddlers. Come check out Wiggle Worms each Tuesday from 10:30 - 11. This weekly event is for mobile toddlers! And we know that at this time of year, you all need to get those little ones MOVING. Wiggle Worms is a fast-paced story time with songs, rhymes, and stories to keep them occupied! This a great way to engage busy bodies with early literacy and opportunities for play. Crawlers and pre-walkers are also welcome. This program will run for about 20 minutes, followed by a playtime with toys that encourage both social and motor skills. No sign up is required; join us when you can. Event Location: Children's Room, Main Library.
Foster Parent Recruitment for the Department of Children and Families
Is there room in your home and heart for a foster child?  The Department of Children and Families is actively recruiting foster parents for children in Easton coming into care. We are searching for individuals or families with the love and patience to help foster children. You can be single, married, partnered, divorced or widowed. You can own your home or rent. We need homes for children aged 0 to 22, which include sibling groups, children with special needs, medically involved children, and infants born, exposed to drugs and older teens. We are looking for long-term foster homes but also have a need for emergency and respite homes, which involve a shorter time commitment on the part of a foster family. Our goal is to provide our foster children with a supportive and healing environment in a home in their own community until they can be reunited with their families or another plan can be made on their behalf. The rewards of providing daily care, guidance and acceptance are immeasurable. 3rd Tuesday Every Month:  Sewing Machine One-on-One
Have you previously sewn on a sewing machine but find yourself without one?  Not to worry the Ames Free Library has a sewing machine available for your use in the Queset House. Schedule a time with Kathy Korona so that she can introduce you to the Necchi sewing machine. Once you have used the Necchi sewing machine in the 30-minute tutorial you can check out the machine for in library use. Sessions are held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 3PM & 3:30PM, and are by appointment only. Please schedule your session on our website or call 508-238-2000, ext. 3. February 28 - May 23:  "Free Indeed" at Liberty Baptist Church
Liberty Baptist Church is excited to restart their addictions program called "Free Indeed." This free 12-week program is designed to help people who struggle with addictive behaviors find help and healing from the Word of God. The program begins on Wednesday, February 28 at 6pm, and new class members are invited to come any Wednesday night, even after the program has begun. Liberty Baptist Church is located at 800 Washington Street in Easton. March 3:  Ames Free Library - Read Across America
Saturday, March 3rd from 11AM-12PM located in the Children's Room, Main Library. Each year, libraries and schools celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday with Read Across America! This year, we'll observe Read Across America on Saturday, March 3. Come to a short Seuss story time, followed by literacy activities and some ideas to do at home. In honor of Dr. Seuss' Fox in Socks, wear your zaniest socks to show off, and tag them on social media as #sockselfies with #amesfreelibrary and #readacrossamerica!
March 3:  Easton Wings of Hope - Hidden in Plain Sight Exhibit
Saturday, March 3rd from 10AM-12PM located at the Old Colony YMCA, 25 Elm Street, Easton. This exhibit enables adult participants to explore and find ways that their teen may be engaging in risky behaviors such as drug use. The intention for this display is not to scare guardians, but to provide knowledge, awareness, and support during the teenage years. March 16:  Ames Free Library - Third Annual Irish Pub at Queset House
Please join the Ames Free Library for its Third Annual Irish Pub at Queset House to celebrate St. Patrick's Day on Friday, March 16th, from 7-11 p.m. There will be delicious Irish food, an amazing group of musicians for an Irish "seisiun," a free Irish whiskey tasting, and a cash bar! Bring your instrument and/or singing voice, and join the music-making! March 23:  Benefit Concert for Oakes Ames Memorial Hall - Because The Arts Matter
Southeast School of Music of Easton presents 'Because The Arts Matter', a Benefit Concert for Oakes Ames Memorial Hall, Easton Shovel Town Cultural District Performance and Event Center, on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 7:30PM. Oakes Ames Memorial Hall is an iconic example of H.H. Richardson architecture that is in need of repairs and upgrades, so that it can continue its strong role in the community. Southeast Instructors Rich Cesarini and Jack Colombo will be performing. Pianist Rich Cesarini will be playing a set of unplugged acoustic rock-Americana with guitarist Steve George. Rich's performance credits include regional and national groups 'The Terrifics', 'The Jon Finn Band' and 'The Experts' and recording projects. Songs include selections such as Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty. Shovel Town Brewery will be there serving their fantastic locally crafted beer selections. The Brewery will donate a portion of their proceeds to the Oakes Ames Memorial Hall. March 24:  Annual Egg Hunt (ages 2-8)

The Recreation Department invites you to hop over to the Town Offices 136 Elm Street, Saturday March 24th, for this exciting event. Don't forget to bring your basket for carrying eggs. There will be separate sections for different age groups and a special visit from the bunny. The hunt begins at 11am sharp! In case of inclement weather, the rain date is Sunday, March 25th. No advanced registration required.

April 15:  Town of Easton Rabies Clinic
The Town of Easton will be holding a Rabies Clinic on Sunday April 15, 2018. The Clinic will be held at the Easton Police Station, 46 Lothrop St. from 9AM-12PM. Cats from 9:00 am to 10:00 am; Dogs from 10:00 am to Noon. All dogs must be on a leash and cats should be in carriers. The charge for the vaccine is $10.00. Please call Animal Control with any questions at (508) 230-3353.
