Town Offices Closed for Veterans Day
In observance of Veterans Day, the Town Offices will close at 12:30 on Thursday, November 9th and will also be closed Friday November 10th. Town Office hours for the week of November 6th are as follows:  Monday - 8:30am to 7:30pm; Tues & Weds 8:30am - 4:30pm; Thursday - 8:30am - 12:30pm; Friday - Closed.
Department of Public Works Accepting Applications for Snow Plow Contractors for Winter 2017/18
The Town of Easton Department of Public Works is accepting applications for snow plowing contractors for the 2017 - 2018 winter season. Applications can be picked up at the Department of Public Works, 130 Center Street between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. www.easton.ma.us/DPW<http://www.easton.ma.us/departments/dpw/index.php>  or call DPW 508-230-0800.
Free Easton Community
Easton Community Calendars covering September 2017 through August 2018 are now available at the Town Offices, Ames Free Library, Easton Historical Society, Frothingham Memorial Hall, and all Easton branches of North Easton Savings Bank. Town information, school events, and civic organization happenings are included. The FREE calendars are provided by North Easton Savings Bank, for the residents of Easton.
The Public Health Nurse will be available for Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar screening for Easton Residents (on a walk in basis, no appointment needed) according to the following schedule:

*        Elise Circle Community Room - Tuesday, November 21 (9:30AM-10:30AM)

*        Town Hall (136 Elm St., Mary Connolly Room, 2nd Floor) - Monday, November 27 (3PM-4PM)

*        Parker Terrace Community Room - Tuesday, December 5 (9:30AM-10:30AM)

November 13:  Vote & Vax - Seasonal Flu Clinic
The Town of Easton will be offering a seasonal flu clinic for Easton residents on Monday, November 13th from 4:30PM to 6:30PM at Oliver Ames High School (in the Atrium), 100 Lothrop Street, Easton. Injectable vaccine is available for individuals three years of age and older. NO FLU MIST WILL BE OFFERED. The vaccine offered is NOT preservative free and is NOT antibiotic free. The Board of Health will be collecting health insurance information (bring your cards) but shots will be given regardless of insurance status for no fee. NO APPOINTMENT NEEDED.  Please call the Board of Health (508) 230-0620 with any questions. Please wear short sleeves.
Now through November 30:  Deadline to Obtain Nomination Papers for Special Town Election
Nomination papers for the Special Town Election, to fill the vacancy for an unexpired term on the Easton Board of Selectmen, are now available at the Town Clerks office. The last day to obtain nomination papers is Thursday, November 30, 2018 at 5PM. Ames Free Library - Converting Slides & Negatives to Digital Every Tuesday at Queset House
Come learn how at the Ames Free Library - Queset House. Pat will show you how to use the library's simple scanner to help preserve those memories. Register online for your one-on-one session. Every Tuesday from 10:30AM - 12:30PM. Location: Queset House, 2nd Floor Digital Media Lab.
Now through December 15:  Photography Competition & Preservation Awards
The Easton Historical Commission is accepting photographs through December 15, 2017 for the 18th Annual Photography Competition, Sunday January 14, 2018 from 3PM-5PM at Oakes Ames Memorial Hall. Recipients of the Chaffin Award (for an individual making a significant contribution to historic preservation in Easton), the Briggs Award (for a building or landscape project significant to Easton's historical integrity) and the Boston Post Cane (for Easton's oldest resident) will be announced at the event. Photographs should be taken in Easton and should be on the themes of historic places, historic landscapes, people, or pets. November 4 through May 19:  The Original Easton Farmer's Market Goes Indoors
November 4, 2017 - May 19, 2018. The Original Easton Farmer's Market is one of the few farmer's markets that operates year-round. Come welcome the farmers, baker, and other local vendors to the Winter Market in the historic Oak Ames Memorial Hall, 3 Barrows Street, in North Easton village from 10AM - 2PM. November 11:  The Original Easton Farmer's Market Not Operating
Saturday, November 11th. The Original Easton Farmer's Market operates year round but there are a few schedule variations in the upcoming weeks. The Winter Market will not be open on Saturday, November 11th or on December 2nd because of scheduling conflicts. The Winter Market is open on Saturday, November 18th and on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving November 21st, at the historic Oak Ames Memorial Hall, 3 Barrows Street, North Easton Village from 10AM - 2PM. The regular Saturday schedule will resume on December 9th and continue through May.

November 10:  Veteran's Day "Old Glory"
Celebrate Veteran's Day at the Children's Museum in Easton on Friday, November 10th with special activities from 10AM-4PM as we celebrate our nation's heroes. Salute our Veterans by helping loop together stars and stripes, making a flag, which will be hung, within the Museum. Then craft a patriotic hat that would make Uncle Sam mighty proud. Teamsters Local 653 sponsors the program. Veteran's Day activities are free with admission. The Museum is located in the Old Fire Station on 9 Sullivan Avenue, North Easton Village. November 10:  Babysitter Training Class
Develop your babysitting skills at the Children's Museum in Easton on Friday, November 10th from 4PM-7PM in our Babysitter Training Class. Students from grades 6 and up have the opportunity to learn the basics of being a great baby-sitter from an experienced teacher!  During this one-day course, students will learn how to care for children. Topics Include:  diapering techniques, safety and accident prevention, basic first aid, how to handle emergencies, great ideas for healthy, wholesome snacks and age appropriate activities! Students are asked to eat prior to arrival along with bringing a large doll or teddy bear to practice diapering and first aid techniques. There is a $50 fee per student, pre-registration and advance payment is required. There is a limit for the class size. November 11:  VETERANS DAY PARADE
Easton's annual Veterans Day Parade will be held on Saturday, November 11th. The parade will from at Washington Plaza and participants should report between 10:15AM and 10:30AM and the parade will start right at 11:00AM. Any veteran who wishes to ride should contact a VFW or Legion member before the parade starts to get directions on where the vehicles will be parked for the ride. The parade will march up Main Street to the World War I Tablet and after a wreath-laying ceremony with speakers, the parade will continue down Main Street and take a right on Sullivan Avenue to Veterans Memorial Park where another wreath-laying ceremony with speakers and singers will take place and where it will end. The parade Marshal's this year are Charlie Hammond, an Army Veteran and Patrick Johnson, an Air Force Veteran. Participants include the Oliver Ames High School Band, Canton Legion Band, and, VW Color Guard and Firing Detail, along with American Legion members, town officials, Girl Scouts, Brownies, and Daisies, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and more. November 12:  Historical Society Honors Veterans
Sunday, November 12th the Easton Historical Society will honor World War II veterans at 2PM with Elaine Anderson Sears and Priscilla Almquist-Olsen discussing the publication "So We'll Meet Again". Call 508.238.7774 for more information. Refreshments!

November 12:  10th Annual FEEE Volleyball Tournament
Save the date! The 10th Annual FEEE Volleyball Tournament will take place on Friday, November 17, 2017. You've watched your kids from the sidelines. Now it is time for you to play with a team of your own all while raising money for our schools. We're looking for volleyball enthusiasts - no experience is necessary. Join us for loads of family fun and make sure your kids are in the stands to cheer for you!  Ready to form a team?  You'll need eight to ten players. Matches will be played with six players on the court, two of whom must be women. Anyone high school age or older can play. The donation for to participate is $250 for teams made up of all adults or mixed between adults and students, and $200 for teams made up entirely of students. This fee covers the cost of eight shirts. Teams over eight players will be charged an additional $10 per shirt. All proceeds will be donated to the Easton schools and their technology needs.

Thursday, November 16th from 6-8PM at the Queset House, 51 Main Street, Easton, MA. When a recently deceased ghost couple find their now-vacant home invaded by an obnoxious family, they hire a sleazy ghost who gets rid of humans to help them. IMDB Rated PG for adult situations/language, violence.

December 2:  The Easton Garden Club Annual Holiday Greens Sale
Saturday, December 2nd from 9AM-1PM. The Easton Garden Club will be selling fresh balsam wreaths, holly wreaths, grapevine wreaths, door swags, garlands, holiday arrangements, bunches of fresh greens & berries, pinecones, amaryllis pots, boxwood tree, ornaments, and beautiful raffle prizes. This is the ONLY winter fundraiser sponsored by the Easton Garden Club.
