Town Offices Closed for Veterans Day
In observance of Veterans Day, the Town Offices will close at 12:30 on Thursday, November 9th and will also be closed Friday November 10th. Town Office hours for the week of November 6th are as follows: Monday - 8:30am to 7:30pm; Tues & Weds 8:30am - 4:30pm; Thursday - 8:30am - 12:30pm; Friday - Closed.
Department of Public Works Accepting Applications for Snow Plow Contractors for Winter 2017/18
The Town of Easton Department of Public Works is accepting applications for snow plowing contractors for the 2017 - 2018 winter season. Applications can be picked up at the Department of Public Works, 130 Center Street between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. www.easton.ma.us/DPW<http://www.easton.ma.us/departments/dpw/index.php> or call DPW 508-230-0800.
Free Easton Community
Easton Community Calendars covering September 2017 through August 2018 are now available at the Town Offices, Ames Free Library, Easton Historical Society, Frothingham Memorial Hall, and all Easton branches of North Easton Savings Bank. Town information, school events, and civic organization happenings are included. The FREE calendars are provided by North Easton Savings Bank, for the residents of Easton.
The Public Health Nurse will be available for Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar screening for Easton Residents (on a walk in basis, no appointment needed) according to the following schedule:
* Elise Circle Community Room - Tuesday, November 21 (9:30AM-10:30AM)
* Town Hall (136 Elm St., Mary Connolly Room, 2nd Floor) - Monday, November 23 (3PM-4PM)

November 3: Voter Registration Deadline - Special Town Meeting
Friday, November 3rd is the deadline to register to vote for the upcoming Special Town Meeting that will be held on Monday, November 13th. The Easton Town Clerks Office, located on the first floor of Town Hall, 136 Elm Street, will be open for voter registration purposes only from 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM on Friday, November 3rd. November 3: CPA Project Eligibility Applications due Friday, November 3 by 12:30PM
Since its adoption in 2001, the Community Preservation Act has helped Easton protect numerous historic and resources and open spaces, improve our affordable housing stock and improve access to outdoor recreation. In order to be eligible for FY19 CPA funding, applicants for all potential projects must submit an Application for Eligibility<http://cms2.revize.com/revize/easton/newsdetail_T2_R505.php> by November 3, 2017 by 12:30pm.
Now through November 30: Deadline to Obtain Nomination Papers for Special Town Election
Nomination papers for the Special Town Election, to fill the vacancy for an unexpired term on the Easton Board of Selectmen, are now available at the Town Clerks office. The last day to obtain nomination papers is Thursday, November 30, 2018 at 5PM. Now through December 15: Photography Competition & Preservation Awards
The Easton Historical Commission is accepting photographs through December 15, 2017 for the 18th Annual Photography Competition, Sunday January 14, 2018 from 3PM-5PM at Oakes Ames Memorial Hall. Recipients of the Chaffin Award (for an individual making a significant contribution to historic preservation in Easton), the Briggs Award (for a building or landscape project significant to Easton's historical integrity) and the Boston Post Cane (for Easton's oldest resident) will be announced at the event. Photographs should be taken in Easton and should be on the themes of historic places, historic landscapes, people, or pets. November 4: Boy Scout Troop 42 of Easton
Saturday November 4th from 8AM-1PM. Family Breakfast and Silent Auction. All you can eat buffet: pancakes, sausages, scrambled eggs, and home fries, juices and coffee located at the Covenant Congregational Church, 204 Center Street, North Easton. Only $5 per person/ $20 per family of six.

November 4: Easton Food Pantry - Race Against Hunger
Immaculate Conception Church is proud to sponsor the "2nd Annual Easton Food Pantry-Race Against Hunger". A 5K/3.1 Mile Run/Walk to be held on Saturday, November 4th at Borderland State Park, 259 Massapoag Avenue, N. Easton, MA. Registration begins at 8:30AM, Race Start time is 10AM. November 4: The Original Easton Farmer's Market Goes Indoors
November 4, 2017 - May 19, 2018. The Original Easton Farmer's Market is one of the few farmer's markets that operates year-round. Come welcome the farmers, baker, and other local vendors to the Winter Market in the historic Oak Ames Memorial Hall, 3 Barrows Street, in North Easton village from 10AM - 2PM. November 6: The Cotton Swab Challenge
The Cotton Swab Challenge was started by the Family of an individual who was diagnosed with Leukemia. It was discovered a bone marrow transplant is the next step in the plan to become cancer free. Be The Match will be at Stonehill College on Monday November 6th to assist people between the ages 18-44 in registering to be bone marrow donors. We want to Challenge people/ colleges/cities to register, so we can live in a world where no one has to wait for a perfect match. Hence the name, Cotton Swab Challenge! When you register online or at an event like this one, you will swab your cheek and fill out some basic medical information. It is FREE and simple. November 8: Honor Flight - Hail Our Veteran Heroes
Wednesday, November 8th from 6:30PM - 7:30PM. Honor Flight is an all-volunteer, non-affiliated organization that flies veterans of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam to Washington DC for one day, all Free, to see their memorials. It gives them the homecoming they never received. Come hear about my incredible, emotional, and fantastic journey. Debbie Adduci, Library Technician at the Ames Free Library, recently took this trip to D.C. with her 93-year-old father. Queset House, 1st Floor Presentation Commons.
November 10: Veteran's Day "Old Glory"
Celebrate Veteran's Day at the Children's Museum in Easton on Friday, November 10th with special activities from 10AM-4PM as we celebrate our nation's heroes. Salute our Veterans by helping loop together stars and stripes, making a flag, which will be hung, within the Museum. Then craft a patriotic hat that would make Uncle Sam mighty proud. Teamsters Local 653 sponsors the program. Veteran's Day activities are free with admission. The Museum is located in the Old Fire Station on 9 Sullivan Avenue, North Easton Village. November 10: Babysitter Training Class
Develop your babysitting skills at the Children's Museum in Easton on Friday, November 10th from 4PM-7PM in our Babysitter Training Class. Students from grades 6 and up have the opportunity to learn the basics of being a great baby-sitter from an experienced teacher! During this one-day course, students will learn how to care for children. Topics Include: diapering techniques, safety and accident prevention, basic first aid, how to handle emergencies, great ideas for healthy, wholesome snacks and age appropriate activities! Students are asked to eat prior to arrival along with bringing a large doll or teddy bear to practice diapering and first aid techniques. There is a $50 fee per student, pre-registration and advance payment is required. There is a limit for the class size. November 11: VETERANS DAY PARADE
Easton's annual Veterans Day Parade will be held on Saturday, November 11th. The parade will from at Washington Plaza and participants should report between 10:15 am and 10:30 am and the parade will start right at 11:00 am. Any veteran who wishes to ride should contact a VFW or Legion member before the parade starts to get directions on where the vehicles will be parked for the ride. The parade will march up Main Street to the World War I Tablet and after a wreath-laying ceremony with speakers, the parade will continue down Main Street and take a right on Sullivan Avenue to Veterans Memorial Park where another wreath-laying ceremony with speakers and singers will take place and where it will end. The parade Marshal's this year are Charlie Hammond, an Army Veteran and Patrick Johnson, an Air Force Veteran. Participants include the Oliver Ames High School Band, Canton Legion Band, and, VW Color Guard and Firing Detail, along with American Legion members, town officials, Girl Scouts, Brownies, and Daisies, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and more. The public is invited to come out and celebrate with our veterans. Contact Al Smart at 508-238-7143 if you have additional questions.
November 12: Historical Society Honors Veterans
Sunday, November 12th the Easton Historical Society will honor World War II veterans at 2PM with Elaine Anderson Sears and Priscilla Almquist-Olsen discussing the publication "So We'll Meet Again". Call 508.238.7774 for more information. Refreshments!
November 12: 10th Annual FEEE Volleyball Tournament
Save the date! The 10th Annual FEEE Volleyball Tournament will take place on Friday, November 17, 2017. You've watched your kids from the sidelines. Now it is time for you to play with a team of your own all while raising money for our schools. We're looking for volleyball enthusiasts - no experience is necessary. Join us for loads of family fun and make sure your kids are in the stands to cheer for you! Ready to form a team? You'll need eight to ten players. Matches will be played with six players on the court, two of whom must be women. Anyone high school age or older can play. The donation for to participate is $250 for teams made up of all adults or mixed between adults and students, and $200 for teams made up entirely of students. This fee covers the cost of eight shirts. Teams over eight players will be charged an additional $10 per shirt. All proceeds will be donated to the Easton schools and their technology needs.
