Voters of Easton will make the final decision this Saturday, November 4 from 10am until 4pm at Oliver Ames High School, whether the Public Safety and Public Works Facilities Replacement Project advances to construction. Read on to learn more about where the project stands and how you can cast your vote to decide this important choice for the community.
Town Meeting Update – Next Steps
Easton voters at the October 23 Special Town Meeting approved funds for the design and construction of new police, fire, and public works facilities in Easton. The second and final voter approval needed for this project to move forward is a debt exclusion election coming up on Saturday, November 4.
Debt Exclusion Election – Saturday, November 4 (Local Approval 2 of 2)
The debt exclusion election is November 4 from 10 AM until 4 PM at Oliver Ames High School, 100 Lothrop Street. This is a ballot election. Absentee and vote by mail ballots must be received at Town Hall, 136 Elm St., by 4PM on Nov 4 in order to be counted. Please note that US Postal delivery services are not consistent and can range from 3 to 11 days. We recommend voters return their ballots in the drop box outside of the town offices by the close of polls on Election Day to ensure it is counted.

Project Background
Voters of Easton authorized the Municipal Building Committee to conduct a feasibility analysis and design plan to replace all police, fire, and public works facilities in 2021. These facilities were originally constructed between 1945 and 1969 and are too small, too old, and in too poor a state of repair to continue serving Easton's first responders, their fleets and equipment, or the community.
After two years of feasibility work, the Select Board has put the project to the voters to decide if it will be funded or not.
