Annual Town Meeting is Monday, May 21 at 7:00 PM - Warrant Available Now
Annual Town Meeting will take place on Monday, May 21, 2018 at 7:00 pm in the Oliver Ames High School Auditorium. Fiscal Year 2019 Budget for the Town of Easton and Easton Public Schools Now Available
The Town Administrator's Balanced Budget is now available in a comprehensive document that contains both the operating and capital budgets for Fiscal Year 2019. The budget information is presented in a helpful and user friendly format that includes a citizen's guide to the budget, a budget summary for each department, and a glossary of common municipal finance terminology. Notice from the Assessors: Cyclical Inspections of Property
The Easton Assessors' Office is in the process of doing cyclical inspections of real estate properties throughout the town, as well as inspections for building permits and new sales. The inspections are being done during the next few months with inspectors going door-to-door throughout neighborhoods to do inspections of both the interior and exterior of properties. Notice from the Assessors: Commercial and Industrial Personal Property Inspections
The Easton Assessors' Office is in the process of doing Commercial and Industrial property inspections of personal property throughout the town. The inspections are being done during the couple of weeks with Data Collector, Renee Holloran, performing site inspections at both Commercial and Industrial properties. Renee is authorized by the Assessor's Department to inspect all properties for the purpose of collecting data.

Bristol County Mosquito Control
Bristol County Mosquito Control will be accepting spray requests beginning on May 21, 2018. We will begin spraying on May 29, 2018 weather permitting. This mailbox will not be monitored until May 21, 2018 and no spray requests made will be honored before May 21, 2018.

Notice of Board and Committee Term Expirations and Vacancies as of June 30, 2018
Applications for appointments to Boards, Commissions, Committees and Councils will be accepted at the Board of Selectmen's Office, Town Office, 136 Elm Street, North Easton, MA 02356 until Friday, June 1, 2018. Incumbents with terms expiring on June 30, 2018 are open to re-appointment but in order to be considered also need to reapply by completing the online volunteer application form. Queset Sewer Construction
The Queset Sewer Project is now under construction. The project will provide sewer service to the Queset Sewer District which includes Washington from Roosevelt Drive to County Lane, and includes portions of Belmont Street, Plymouth Drive, and County Lane. For the week of April 2nd, the contractor will be installing gravity sewer on County Lane.
Now through August: Free Easton Community
Easton Community Calendars covering September 2017 through August 2018 are now available at the Town Offices, Ames Free Library, Easton Historical Society, Frothingham Memorial Hall, and all Easton branches of North Easton Savings Bank. Town information, school events, and civic organization happenings are included. The FREE calendars are provided by North Easton Savings Bank, for the residents of Easton.

May 11: Easton Town Offices - CLOSING at 10AM on Friday, May 11th
Please be advised that the Easton Town Offices located at 136 Elm Street will close at 10AM for the remainder of the day on Friday, May 11th, so that the Town Hall employees can participate in security training.
May 14 & May 24: Coffee with Connor
Please join Connor Read for a cup of coffee and some conversation to share your thoughts and suggestions as he begins his first year as Town Administrator. Monday, May 14th from 6:30-8:00PM and Thursday, May 24th from 10:00-11:30AM located at Ames Free Library, Fireplace Room.
May 22: Massachusetts Historical Commission Training
Chris Skelly, Local Government Director for MHC, is hosting an educational session about best practices for preserving historic resources at the local level. The event is primarily a training opportunity for Historical Commission volunteer board members from Easton and nearby towns. Residents interested in the legal tools and regulatory methods used to understand and protect local history are welcome to attend this event on Tuesday, May 22nd, beginning at 6:30 PM in the Mary Connolly Room on the Second Floor of the Easton Town Offices at 136 Elm Street.
May 28: Town Offices Closed for Memorial Day
The Town Offices will be closed on Monday, May 28 in observance of Memorial Day and remembrance of the sacrifices made by members of the US Armed Forces.
May 28: Memorial Day Parade
The Memorial Day Parade will be on Monday, May 28th. People and groups form at 1:30 pm the Church Street Cemetery and the ceremonies start right at 2 pm. After the ceremony, the groups, bands and people form and march down Church Street to Depot Street to the Civil War Memorial where another ceremony will take place. We have two Parade Marshal's this year; they are Thomas Boteho and Martin Paul, both Vietnam Veterans. There will be two bands - The Oliver Ames High School Band and the Canton Legion Band. There will be Marchers, walkers, riders and color guard and selectmen along with other individuals. The speaker will be Ed Hands and others. Everyone is invited to come out and watch the parade.
The Public Health Nurse will be available for Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar screening for Easton Residents (on a walk in basis, no appointment needed) according to the following schedule:

· Town Hall (136 Elm St., Mary Connolly Room, 2nd Floor) - Monday, May 21 (3PM-4PM)

Year 2025 Easton will Celebrate 300th Birthday - Fund for Donating
Easton has a great 300th Birthday Celebration in the year 2025. A fund has been established by the Avery Lee Williams Family Trust to which donations may be made. This fund already has over $13,000.00 in it. To make such donation just send your check payable to the Town of Easton at the Town Treasurer's office, 136 Elm Street, North Easton, MA 02356 - be certain to put the words "330th Celebration Fund" on the miscellaneous line.
Sign up Now for a Community Garden Plot at Wheaton Farm
Garden plots are still available for rent by the general public The community garden is located right at Wheaton Farm right next to the parking lot on Bay Road just south of the junction with Prospect Street. Plots are available within a fenced enclosure with full sun, running water, and a storage shed. Rent a full plot (20 feet by 20 feet) for $75 for the season or a ½ plot (10 by 10) for $55. Saturday's: Volunteers Needed to Support the Farmer's Market at Oakes Ames Memorial Hall
The Easton Agricultural Commission has increased the number of special activities planned for the year-round Saturday Market. If you'd like to support these community events, please consider volunteering for a few hours on a Saturday morning. Events planned through the end of April include: kids planting activity; musician; food demonstration; Earth Day upcycling event and continuing the popular guided tours of the historic Hall itself. If you don't have the time to volunteer, there is no better way to show your support then to shop with our local vendors - Jordan Brothers Seafood; Foxboro (Meats and Cheese); Langwater Farm (Produce - accepts HIP); Bridgewater Village Bakery; Captivating Twists (Baked Goods); Rosie Bud Farm (Honey); Oakdale Farm (Produce - accepts HIP); and All Hands In (non-profit natural personal care products that provide for women survivors of human trafficking). 3rd Tuesday Every Month: Sewing Machine One-on-One
Have you previously sewn on a sewing machine but find yourself without one? Not to worry the Ames Free Library has a sewing machine available for your use in the Queset House. Schedule a time with Kathy Korona so that she can introduce you to the Necchi sewing machine. Once you have used the Necchi sewing machine in the 30-minute tutorial you can check out the machine for in library use. Sessions are held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 3PM & 3:30PM, and are by appointment only. Please schedule your session on our website or call 508-238-2000, ext. 3. Event Location: Queset House, 2nd Floor Makerspace.
May 11: Healthy Easton and Easton Wings of Hope Meeting
Just a reminder that our Healthy Easton meeting is next Friday, May 11th, 10:30am at Queset House. Healthy Easton and Easton Wings of Hope will use this meeting to identify areas of opportunity to create environmental changes in the town. Both coalitions have been hard at work to improve the health of Easton, and we look forward to hearing your ideas. Please RSVP to me if you plan to attend.
May 12: Easton Garden Club Plant Sale
Saturday, May 12th, 9AM - 1PM Yardley-Wood Rink, Depot Street, South Easton. The garden club will be selling members' garden-dug perennials as well as some annuals and gifts for Mothers' Day. Thank you for supporting one of the EGC fundraisers which enables us to continue to beautify the town of Easton downtown and other landscape projects.
May 12: National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive
Saturday, May 12th marks the 26th anniversary of one of America's great days of giving - the National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp out Hunger Food Drive. Participating in this year's Letter Carrier Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is simple. Just leave a non-perishable food donation in a bag at your mailbox on Saturday, May 12th and your letter carrier will do the rest. We invite you to join in America's great day of giving and help us in our fight to end hunger.
May 19: Last Spring Tour of the Historic Oakes Ames Memorial Hall during the Farmer's Market
Ed Hands and Fred Ames will give a tour of the interior, so you can learn more about the beautiful Oakes Ames Memorial Hall, 3 Barrows Street, North Easton. Fred and Ed will be giving tours at 11AM and 1PM. Coffee and treats provided while you wait for the tour to begin. Free Event.The Original Easton Farmers Market will be in the downstairs hall (as usual) selling their delicious produce, breads, local meats, and cheese during the market hours from 10AM-2PM until Memorial Day weekend when it heads outdoors. New vendors are starting - please come down and welcome Tyler Jones of Garden of Easton (seedlings and compost casting worms); Tiny Forest Soap Company; and Gourmet Bae Catering (muffins and cookies).
May 19: 2nd Annual Bike Rodeo
Save the date for our 2nd Annual Bike Rodeo on May 19th! Located at the Old Colony YMCA, 25 Elm Street, Easton from 12PM-2PM. Bring your bikes and helmets. Healthy Easton bike share bicycles will be available to test ride. Rodeo will be open to ages 5+, children must be accompanies by an adult. Bicycle and helmet safety inspection, learn the rules of the road, bicycle and helmet decorating, bicycle safety trivia wheel, bicycle obstacle course. May 22: Annual Taste of Easton
The Easton Chamber of Commerce is holding the 11th annual Taste of Easton at Stonehill College on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The Chamber invites all Easton area restaurants, caterers and beverage companies to participate in the tasting venue. Additionally the Business Expo offers local business sponsor and exhibitor opportunities. Registration forms can be downloaded from the event website at www.tasteofeaston.com<http://www.tasteofeaston.com>. The deadline for submission is April 27. Tickets for the Taste of Easton will go on sale April 21 at both Bank of Easton branches, Shaw's and Roche Bros in Easton, and online through the event website. May 26: The Original Easton Farmer's Market Goes Outdoors
The Original Easton Farmer's Market is open year-round on Saturday from 10:00AM-2:00PM and will set up in its outdoor location on Saturday May 26 located at the S-Curve on Depot Street near Shaw's Grocery Store. Some of our regular vendors leave us to open their farm stands (and will return to the market in autumn) and other vendors are arriving. Registration for the Summer Market is now open! If you, or someone you know, would like to be a vendor at our Winter Market, please contact FarmersMarket at easton.ma.us<mailto:FarmersMarket at easton.ma.us> for an application, or stop by Town Hall.
