Week of March 5:  Bulky Item Pick Up Week
The week of March 5, 2018 will be the next "FREE BULK ITEM" pickup week for Waste Management customers. If you are in our Waste Management program, you can put a large item curbside on your regular trash day to be picked up at no charge to you. Council on Aging
Snow Removal Reference List Applications are now being accepted:  To assist Easton residents who are unable to remove snow from their private property, The Town of Easton keeps a reference list of individuals willing to assist these residents with snow removal. This list is available in the Town Offices and at www.easton.ma.us/snow<http://www.easton.ma.us/snow>. If you are interested in applying to get on this referral list, you can find an application and more information on this webpage.
February 23:  American Legion Post 7 February 2018 Meeting
The American Legion Post 7 Easton, Ma invites any interested veterans to their next meeting on Tuesday February 27, 2018.  The Meeting begins at 7:00pm and normally runs until 8:00pm in the VFW Hall 61 Rockland Street on the corner of Allen Road, Easton, MA.

Now through February 28:  2018 Dog Licensing
Dog licenses for 2018 are now available and must be completed BEFORE March 1st to avoid late fees. A current rabies certificate must be on file with the Town Clerk's Office in order to license your dog. To update your rabies on file please email<mailto:townclerksoffice at easton.ma.us> a copy to townclerksoffice at easton.ma.us<mailto:townclerksoffice at easton.ma.us>.
You may license your dog in one of the following ways:

*        License ONLINE<https://unipaygold.unibank.com/transactionInfo.aspx?CustomerID=657&TransID=22092> (.25 bank convenience fee with electronic check) and your licenses and tags will be mailed directly to you ($1.00 postage & handling fee).

*        License in Person - You may stop by the Town Clerks Office during normal business hours. (Mondays 8:30AM - 7:30PM, Tues/Wed/Thur 8:30AM - 4:30PM, Fri 8:30AM-12:30P)

Now through March 2:  Deadline to Obtain Nomination Papers for Annual Town Election
Nomination papers for the Annual Town Election are available beginning Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the Town Clerks office. The last day to obtain nomination papers is Friday, March 2, 2018 at 5:00 PM. Free Easton Community
Easton Community Calendars covering September 2017 through August 2018 are now available at the Town Offices, Ames Free Library, Easton Historical Society, Frothingham Memorial Hall, and all Easton branches of North Easton Savings Bank. Town information, school events, and civic organization happenings are included. The FREE calendars are provided by North Easton Savings Bank, for the residents of Easton.
The Public Health Nurse will be available for Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar screening for Easton Residents (on a walk in basis, no appointment needed) according to the following schedule:

*        Elise Circle Community Room - Tuesday, March 20 (9:30AM-10:30AM)

*        Town Hall (136 Elm St., Mary Connolly Room, 2nd Floor) - Monday, February 26 (3PM-4PM)

Tuesday's - Ames Free Library Hosts Story Times for Infants and Toddlers
Have you met our new Children's Librarian, Jessica?  She hosts story times for infants and toddlers. Come check out Wiggle Worms each Tuesday from 10:30 - 11. This weekly event is for mobile toddlers! And we know that at this time of year, you all need to get those little ones MOVING. Wiggle Worms is a fast-paced story time with songs, rhymes, and stories to keep them occupied! This a great way to engage busy bodies with early literacy and opportunities for play. Crawlers and pre-walkers are also welcome. This program will run for about 20 minutes, followed by a playtime with toys that encourage both social and motor skills. No sign up is required; join us when you can. Event Location: Children's Room, Main Library.
Foster Parent Recruitment for the Department of Children and Families
Is there room in your home and heart for a foster child?  The Department of Children and Families is actively recruiting foster parents for children in Easton coming into care. We are searching for individuals or families with the love and patience to help foster children. You can be single, married, partnered, divorced or widowed. You can own your home or rent. We need homes for children aged 0 to 22, which include sibling groups, children with special needs, medically involved children, and infants born, exposed to drugs and older teens. We are looking for long-term foster homes but also have a need for emergency and respite homes, which involve a shorter time commitment on the part of a foster family. Our goal is to provide our foster children with a supportive and healing environment in a home in their own community until they can be reunited with their families or another plan can be made on their behalf. The rewards of providing daily care, guidance and acceptance are immeasurable. Ames Free Library - Converting Slides & Negatives to Digital Every Tuesday at Queset House
Come learn how at the Ames Free Library - Queset House. Pat will show you how to use the library's simple scanner to help preserve those memories. Register online for your one-on-one session. Every Tuesday from 10:30AM - 12:30PM. Location:  Queset House, 2nd Floor Digital Media Lab.
Saturday's:  Food Shopping Made Easy at Easton Farmer's Market
Delicious homemade breads, local meats and cheese, and locally and ethically grown produce. We'll see you there! Every Saturday, 10AM-2PM at Oakes Ames Memorial Hall. 3rd Tuesday Every Month:  Sewing Machine One-on-One
Have you previously sewn on a sewing machine but find yourself without one?  Not to worry the Ames Free Library has a sewing machine available for your use in the Queset House. Schedule a time with Kathy Korona so that she can introduce you to the Necchi sewing machine. Once you have used the Necchi sewing machine in the 30-minute tutorial you can check out the machine for in library use. Sessions are held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 3PM & 3:30PM, and are by appointment only. Please schedule your session on our website or call 508-238-2000, ext. 3. February 24:  Music & Tour of the Historic Oakes Ames Memorial Hall during the Farmer's Market
The Original Easton Farmers Market will be in the downstairs hall (as usual) selling their delicious produce, breads, local meats, and cheese during the market hours from 10 AM-2PM. A team of volunteers and historians will give tours of the interior, so you can learn more about the beautiful Oakes Ames Memorial Hall, 3 Barrows Street, North Easton. Tours at 11AM and 1PM, free of charge
February 27:  Easton Wings of Hope
The Easton Wings of Hope General Coalition Meeting will be held Tuesday, February 27th from 6:30-8pm at the William Simmons Lecture Hall (F126), Oliver Ames High School, 100 Lothrop Street, North Easton. February 28 - May 23:  "Free Indeed" at Liberty Baptist Church
Liberty Baptist Church is excited to restart their addictions program called "Free Indeed." This free 12-week program is designed to help people who struggle with addictive behaviors find help and healing from the Word of God. The program begins on Wednesday, February 28 at 6pm, and new class members are invited to come any Wednesday night, even after the program has begun. Liberty Baptist Church is located at 800 Washington Street in Easton. March 3:  Ames Free Library - Read Across America
Saturday, March 3rd from 11AM-12PM located in the Children's Room, Main Library. Each year, libraries and schools celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday with Read Across America! This year, we'll observe Read Across America on Saturday, March 3. Come to a short Seuss story time, followed by literacy activities and some ideas to do at home. In honor of Dr. Seuss' Fox in Socks, wear your zaniest socks to show off, and tag them on social media as #sockselfies with #amesfreelibrary and #readacrossamerica!
March 3:  Easton Wings of Hope - Hidden in Plain Sight Exhibit
Saturday, March 3rd from 10AM-12PM located at the Old Colony YMCA, 25 Elm Street, Easton. This exhibit enables adult participants to explore and find ways that their teen may be engaging in risky behaviors such as drug use. The intention for this display is not to scare guardians, but to provide knowledge, awareness, and support during the teenage years. Deadline March 30:  Scheduling of the Recreation Fields
The Recreation Department is accepting field requests. Facility permit applications are available at www.easton.ma.us<http://www.easton.ma.us> under recreation. Completed paperwork must be submitted by March 30, 2018. Any questions please call the Recreation Department at (508) 238-3084.
April 15:  Town of Easton Rabies Clinic
The Town of Easton will be holding a Rabies Clinic on Sunday April 15, 2018. The Clinic will be held at the Easton Police Station, 46 Lothrop St. from 9AM-12PM. Cats from 9:00 am to 10:00 am; Dogs from 10:00 am to Noon. All dogs must be on a leash and cats should be in carriers. The charge for the vaccine is $10.00. Please call Animal Control with any questions at (508) 230-3353.
