Notice from the Assessors: Cyclical Inspections of Property
The Easton Assessors' Office is in the process of doing cyclical inspections of real estate properties throughout the town, as well as inspections for building permits and new sales. The inspections are being done during the next few months with inspectors going door-to-door throughout neighborhoods to do inspections of both the interior and exterior of properties. NOTICE TO RESIDENTS - Allen Road and Randall Street Paving Project
As part of the Town of Easton's ongoing pavement management program, the repaving of Allen Road and a portion of Randall Street (between Bay Road and Knollwood Street) has been scheduled and will begin Monday April 30th. Milling will begin on Allen Road on Monday and should be completed on Tuesday. Crews will then mobilize and complete the milling on Randall Street on Tuesday May 1st. Motorists should expect delays and seek alternate routes during this time. Police Details will be on scene to assist and direct traffic through and around the work zones. The first phase of work involves the milling of the existing asphalt surface, followed by the adjustment of castings, and final paving in the following weeks. It should be noted that the schedule is subject to delays from weather as well as contractor availability. Thank you for your patience as we make improvements to the Town of Easton's roadways. May 5:  Active Bystander Training - Frothingham Hall
If you are a bystander witnessing a harmful situation, you have a choice to make: Do you do something? What do you do? This training, sponsored by Easton's Human Rights Committee, helps participants recognize when they are bystanders, analyze situations, and evaluate the consequences for everyone involved. Saturday May 5th from 10AM-12PM located at Frothingham Hall, 15 Barrows Street, Easton. Training provided by Quabbin Mediation of Orange, MA. Space is limited to 30 participants. May 11:  Easton Town Offices - Closing at 10AM on Friday, May 11th

Please be advised that the Easton Town Offices located at 136 Elm Street will close at 10AM for the remainder of the day on Friday, May 11th, so that the Town Hall employees can participate in security training.
Notice of Board and Committee Term Expirations and Vacancies as of June 30, 2018
Applications for appointments to Boards, Commissions, Committees and Councils will be accepted at the Board of Selectmen's Office, Town Office, 136 Elm Street, North Easton, MA 02356 until Friday, June 1, 2018. Incumbents with terms expiring on June 30, 2018 are open to re-appointment but in order to be considered also need to reapply by completing the online volunteer application form. Queset Sewer Construction
The Queset Sewer Project is now under construction. The project will provide sewer service to the Queset Sewer District which includes Washington from Roosevelt Drive to County Lane, and includes portions of Belmont Street, Plymouth Drive, and County Lane. For the week of April 2nd, the contractor will be installing gravity sewer on County Lane.

April 28:  Drug Take Back Day
Drug Take Back Day Saturday April 28th from 10am-2pm at the Police Station on Lothrop Street. Bring your prescription medications for disposal to the Easton Police Station. Over-the-counter and pet medications will also be accepted. You can drive right into the parking lot and pass the meds directly to the volunteers. WE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING SHARPS, NEEDLES, and SYRINGES as they will be collected April 21 at Frothingham Hall.
May 2:  Public Input Summit
The 524 Depot Street Master Plan Team wants to know your thoughts on Easton's recreational needs. The Board of Selectmen appointed the 524 Depot Street Master Plan Team to develop a master plan recommending the best use of the 524 Depot Street Property. Join us on May, 2nd at 7PM at the Richardson Olmsted cafetorium and let us know what your thoughts are. Now through August:  Free Easton Community
Easton Community Calendars covering September 2017 through August 2018 are now available at the Town Offices, Ames Free Library, Easton Historical Society, Frothingham Memorial Hall, and all Easton branches of North Easton Savings Bank. Town information, school events, and civic organization happenings are included. The FREE calendars are provided by North Easton Savings Bank, for the residents of Easton.
The Public Health Nurse will be available for Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar screening for Easton Residents (on a walk in basis, no appointment needed) according to the following schedule:

·         Town Hall (136 Elm St., Mary Connolly Room, 2nd Floor) - Monday, May 21 (3PM-4PM)

Sign up Now for a Community Garden Plot at Wheaton Farm
Garden plots are still available for rent by the general public  The community garden is located right at Wheaton Farm right next to the parking lot on Bay Road just south of the junction with Prospect Street. Plots are available within a fenced enclosure with full sun, running water, and a storage shed. Rent a full plot (20 feet by 20 feet) for $75 for the season or a ½ plot (10 by 10) for $55. Saturday's:  Volunteers Needed to Support the Farmer's Market at Oakes Ames Memorial Hall
The Easton Agricultural Commission has increased the number of special activities planned for the year-round Saturday Market. If you'd like to support these community events, please consider volunteering for a few hours on a Saturday morning. Events planned through the end of April include: kids planting activity; musician; food demonstration; Earth Day upcycling event and continuing the popular guided tours of the historic Hall itself. 3rd Tuesday Every Month:  Sewing Machine One-on-One
Have you previously sewn on a sewing machine but find yourself without one?  Not to worry the Ames Free Library has a sewing machine available for your use in the Queset House. Schedule a time with Kathy Korona so that she can introduce you to the Necchi sewing machine. Once you have used the Necchi sewing machine in the 30-minute tutorial you can check out the machine for in library use. Sessions are held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 3PM & 3:30PM, and are by appointment only. Please schedule your session on our website or call 508-238-2000, ext. 3. April 28th:  Ken Martin Memorial Bottle Drive
The semi-annual bottle and can drive in honor of Ken Martin will be held Saturday, April 28th at the Easton Historical Society from 9AM-1PM. If you need to have the bottles picked up, please call 508-238-7774 and arrangements will be made.
April 28th:  Tour of the Historic Oak Ames Memorial Hall during the Farmer's Market
The Original Easton Farmers Market will be in the downstairs hall (as usual) selling their delicious produce, breads, local meats, and cheese during the market hours from 10AM-2PM. Ed Hands and Fred Ames will give tours of the interior, so you can learn more about the beautiful Oakes Ames Memorial Hall, 3 Barrows Street, North Easton. Fred and Ed will be giving tours at 11AM and 1PM. Coffee and treats provided while you wait for the tour to begin. Free Event.

April 29:  Annual Water Division Open House

May 6:  Learn More about "Queset"
"Queset", the Andrew Jackson Downing-style "English Cottage" built in 1854, will be the location and focus of the Easton Historical Society's meeting on Sunday, May 6th at 2PM. May 5:  Easton Wings of Hope - Hidden in Plain Sight Exhibit
Saturday, May 5th from 10AM-12PM at the Old Colony YMCA, 25 Elm Street, Easton. This exhibit enables adult participants to explore and find ways that their teen may be engaging in risky behaviors such as drug use. The intention for this display is not to scare guardians but to provide knowledge, awareness, and support during the teenage years. May 5:  NRT's Spring Farm Festival

Join us for a day of games, vendors, and farm fun at NRT's 2018 Spring Farm Festival! Admission includes all activities, such as seed planting, "Touch a Tractor" discovery area, toddler play area, yard games, chicken feeding, arts and crafts, face painting and more! A variety of local vendors and non-profit organizations will also be attending! Food will be available at additional cost. May 9:  Singer-Songwriter Bobby Jo Valentine Playing for a Special Food Banks Cause
Wednesday, May 9th celebrated singer-songwriter Bobby Jo Valentine will perform at a concert at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Easton to benefit The Outreach Program, an organization that provides nutritious meals to area food banks. Mr. Valentine's music has been described as "hope-folk" "soul-pop" and "poetic rock", appealing to multiple genres and audiences across the country. His thoughtful lyrics and catchy melodies have won him numerous awards, including Songwriter of the Year (2011 and 2015) at the West Coast Songwriters Association and Song of the Year in 2017. A significant part of Mr. Valentine's upbringing and music is his faith, which guide him to promote equal rights and justice.  He is pleased that the concert at Holy Trinity will support worthy organizations such as The Outreach Program and the many food banks they work with for providing meals for those in need in southeastern Massachusetts. May 12:  National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive
Saturday, May 12th marks the 26th anniversary of one of America's great days of giving - the National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp out Hunger Food Drive. Participating in this year's Letter Carrier Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is simple. Just leave a non-perishable food donation in a bag at your mailbox on Saturday, May 12th and your letter carrier will do the rest. We invite you to join in America's great day of giving and help us in our fight to end hunger.
May 22:  Annual Taste of Easton
The Easton Chamber of Commerce is holding the 11th annual Taste of Easton at Stonehill College on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.  The Chamber invites all Easton area restaurants, caterers and beverage companies to participate in the tasting venue. Additionally the Business Expo offers local business sponsor and exhibitor opportunities. Registration forms can be downloaded from the event website at www.tasteofeaston.com<http://www.tasteofeaston.com>. The deadline for submission is April 27. Tickets for the Taste of Easton will go on sale April 21 at both Bank of Easton branches, Shaw's and Roche Bros in Easton, and online through the event website. May 20:  Easton MOMS Club 6th Annual Family Fun Fest
Sunday, May 20th from 10:00AM - 1:30PM Rain or Shine at Maplewood, 150 Foundry St. Indoor and outdoor activities include Toe Jam Puppet Band performances, Vinny the Bubble Guy, Mickey Mouse meet & greets, balloon twisting and face painter, touch-a-truck, pony rides, boating, rock climbing, pedal karts, gymnastics, and more!
