Department of Public Works Accepting Applications for Snow Plow Contractors for Winter 2017/18
The Town of Easton Department of Public Works is accepting applications for snow plowing contractors for the 2017 - 2018 winter season. Notice from the Assessors: Cyclical Inspections of Property
The Easton Assessors' Office is in the process of doing cyclical inspections of real estate properties throughout the town, as well as inspections for building permits and new sales. The inspections are being done during the next few months with inspectors going door-to-door throughout neighborhoods to do inspections of both the interior and exterior of properties. Free Easton Community
Easton Community Calendars covering September 2017 through August 2018 are now available at the Town Offices, Ames Free Library, Easton Historical Society, Frothingham Memorial Hall, and all Easton branches of North Easton Savings Bank. Town information, school events, and civic organization happenings are included. The FREE calendars are provided by North Easton Savings Bank, for the residents of Easton.
Easton Cultural Council - Grant Applications
The Easton Cultural Council is currently accepting grant applications. Please share if you know of an individual or organization that could apply! The Easton Cultural Council strives to encourage community members to expand the arts, humanities and sciences and to let them know the availability of grants to help them get off the ground with projects that will enhance the culture of the community. The purpose of the Easton Cultural Council is to support local public programs that promote access, education, diversity and excellence in the arts, humanities and interpretive sciences in Easton. Preference will be given to performances, events, artists and organizations based in Easton. Applicants can be: (1) Arts, humanities or interpretive science organizations, (2) Individuals including artists, science educators, historians, writers or other humanists, parents, community members, etc., (3) Community organizations including but not limited to schools, social service organizations, civic groups, neighborhood centers, youth, senior and family associations, etc. Incorporated organizations must be nonprofit; unincorporated associations must have a nonprofit purpose. Grant applications and support materials can be filed online as of September 1st, 2017 and the deadline is October 16th, 2017. October 10: Water Division Fall System Flushing Program
The Water Division will be conducting its annual fall system-flushing program beginning Tuesday, October 10th and continuing for two weeks, to ensure the continued quality of our drinking water. The water may become discolored due to the heavy use, so please check before using. If you have any questions, call 508-230-0850.
The Public Health Nurse will be available for Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar screening for Easton Residents (on a walk in basis, no appointment needed) according to the following schedule:
* Elise Circle Community Room - Tuesday, October 17 (9:30AM-10:30AM)
* Town Hall (136 Elm St., Mary Connolly Room, 2nd Floor) - Monday, October 23 (3PM-4PM)
* Parker Terrace Community Room - Tuesday, November 7 (9:30AM-10:30AM)
* Frothingham Hall - COA (15 Barrows St) Thursday, October 12 (10:30AM-11:30AM)

Saturday's Through October 28: Original Easton Farmer's Market Open
The Original Easton Farmer's Market is open every Saturday from 10:00AM-2:00PM at the S-Curve on Depot Street near Shaw's Grocery Store. Come meet the farmers that grow a bounty of fresh flowers, vegetables, fruits, fresh honey, cheese, and other locally produced items. October 6: Manufacturing Day - North Easton Machine

October 8: Historical Society and Museum
Sunday, October 8th, plan to be at the Easton Historical Society and Museum at 2PM to welcome back Leo Duggan, longtime educator and successful baseball and golf coach. Leo will be sharing his memories of his special decades in Easton and a number of items will be on display, which he has donated to the Society. Refreshments!
October 10: Estate Planning Basics with Attorney Amy Antonellis
Tuesday, October 10th from 6PM - 8PM at Queset House, 2nd Floor Conference Room. This seminar will explain the necessary components of an effective estate plan and real life scenarios will be evaluated to illustrate the use of various estate planning tools, such as wills, trusts, durable power of attorneys, and health care proxies.

October 14: Annual Stop, Drop and Run 5K - Local 2790 Easton Firefighters

October 16-17: Easton Wings of Hope - Positive Community Norms
Easton Wings of Hope is sponsoring a two-day event titled "Positive Community Norms" on October 16th
& 17th. Dr. Jeff Linkenbach, ED.D, of the Montana Institute will present a seminar on the Science of the Positive and Positive Community Norms. His program has helped communities achieve measurable transformation while helping organizations improve their leadership potential.
