Town Offices Closed for Thanksgiving
In observance of Thanksgiving, the Town Offices will close at 12:30pm Wednesday, November 22nd and closed Thursday, November 23rd and Friday November 24th. Town Office hours for the week of November 20th are as follows:  Monday - 8:30am to 7:30pm; Tuesday 8:30am - 4:30pm; Wednesday 8:30am - 12:30pm; Thursday & Friday - Closed.
Department of Public Works Accepting Applications for Snow Plow Contractors for Winter 2017/18
The Town of Easton Department of Public Works is accepting applications for snow plowing contractors for the 2017 - 2018 winter season. Applications can be picked up at the Department of Public Works, 130 Center Street between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. www.easton.ma.us/DPW<http://www.easton.ma.us/departments/dpw/index.php>  or call DPW 508-230-0800.
Free Easton Community
Easton Community Calendars covering September 2017 through August 2018 are now available at the Town Offices, Ames Free Library, Easton Historical Society, Frothingham Memorial Hall, and all Easton branches of North Easton Savings Bank. Town information, school events, and civic organization happenings are included. The FREE calendars are provided by North Easton Savings Bank, for the residents of Easton.
The Public Health Nurse will be available for Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar screening for Easton Residents (on a walk in basis, no appointment needed) according to the following schedule:

*        Elise Circle Community Room - Tuesday, December 19 (9:30AM-10:30AM)

*        Town Hall (136 Elm St., Mary Connolly Room, 2nd Floor) - Monday, November 27 (3PM-4PM)

*        Parker Terrace Community Room - Tuesday, December 5 (9:30AM-10:30AM)

November 28:  American Legion Post 7 November Meeting
The American Legion Post 7 Easton, Ma invites any interested veterans to their next meeting on Tuesday, November 28th. The Meeting begins at 7PM and normally runs until 8PM located in the VFW Hall, 61 Rockland Street on the corner of Allen Road, Easton, MA.
Now through November 30:  Deadline to Obtain Nomination Papers for Special Town Election
Nomination papers for the Special Town Election, to fill the vacancy for an unexpired term on the Easton Board of Selectmen, are now available at the Town Clerks office. The last day to obtain nomination papers is Thursday, November 30, 2018 at 5PM. Week of December 11: Bulky Item Pick-up
The week of December 11, 2017 will be the next "FREE BULK ITEM" pickup week for Waste Management customers. If you are in our Waste Management program, you can put one (1) large item curbside on your regular trash day to be picked up at no charge to you. No need to call the office, just have your item out at 7:00 a.m. You can find the list of acceptable items on the Town's website. Any questions call the DPW @ 508-230-0800.
December 30:  Voter Registration Deadline - Special Town Election
Saturday, December 30th is the deadline to register to vote for the upcoming Special Town Election, to fill the vacancy for an unexpired term on the Easton Board of Selectmen. Ames Free Library - Converting Slides & Negatives to Digital Every Tuesday at Queset House
Come learn how at the Ames Free Library - Queset House. Pat will show you how to use the library's simple scanner to help preserve those memories. Register online for your one-on-one session. Every Tuesday from 10:30AM - 12:30PM. Location: Queset House, 2nd Floor Digital Media Lab.
Now through December 15:  Photography Competition & Preservation Awards
The Easton Historical Commission is accepting photographs through December 15, 2017 for the 18th Annual Photography Competition, Sunday January 14, 2018 from 3PM-5PM at Oakes Ames Memorial Hall. Recipients of the Chaffin Award (for an individual making a significant contribution to historic preservation in Easton), the Briggs Award (for a building or landscape project significant to Easton's historical integrity) and the Boston Post Cane (for Easton's oldest resident) will be announced at the event. Photographs should be taken in Easton and should be on the themes of historic places, historic landscapes, people, or pets. November 21:  Special Pre-Holiday Farmer's Market
Tuesday, November 21st located at the Oakes Ames Memorial Hall, 3 Barrows Street, Easton from 4PM-7PM. The Winter Market is open for a special pre-holiday market before Thanksgiving. Come get some fresh produce, meats, baked goods and more to share over the holiday.

November 22:  Ames Free Library Closing Early
Wednesday, November 22nd the library will have an early closing at 5PM, as we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving.

November 25 And December 2:  The Original Easton Farmer's Market is taking Two Saturdays Off
The Winter Farmer's market is Not open the Saturday after Thanksgiving November 25th, nor is it open Saturday, December 2nd, due to scheduling conflicts at the historic Oakes Ames memorial Hall.

November 25:  Support Small Business
Small Business Saturday is November 25, a day for consumers to celebrate small business in their neighborhood. By shopping or dining locally, you are helping to power the local economy and invigorate the community. The Shop Small Movement was founded by American Express in 2010 and recognized by the U.S. Senate in 2011. It spurred a movement that many individuals, businesses and communities have embraced nationwide. "Black Friday" and "Cyber Monday" tend to emphasize major retailers but small businesses have much to offer holiday shoppers as well. Consumers play a key role in helping small business thrive, so reinvest in the community that you call home and Shop Small on November 25. The Easton Chamber of Commerce strives to promote economic prosperity in the Easton community and is proud to support this initiative.

November 29:  Ruth Wakefield and Her Famous Toll House Cookie
Located at the Queset House from 6:30PM - 7:30PM. Yum! Who can resist the beloved and iconic chocolate chip cookie? Here to tell us the fascinating history baked into this quintessential American cookie is Kathleen Teahan. Kathleen retired as an English teacher and went on to serve ten years as a Massachusetts legislator, an experience that she is currently turning into a memoir. She is also the author of The Cookie Loved Around the World, a children's book that charmingly tells the tale of how, in the midst of the Great Depression, a cookie took hold of the people of Whitman, the state of Massachusetts, and the rest of the country. Free and open to all.

December 2:  The Easton Garden Club Annual Holiday Greens Sale
Saturday, December 2nd from 9AM-1PM. The Easton Garden Club will be selling fresh balsam wreaths, holly wreaths, grapevine wreaths, door swags, garlands, holiday arrangements, bunches of fresh greens & berries, pinecones, amaryllis pots, boxwood tree, ornaments, and beautiful raffle prizes. This is the ONLY winter fundraiser sponsored by the Easton Garden Club.
