NOTICE:  For the past two weeks, we have experienced technical difficulties distributing the Town Crier to our Easton subscribers.  It is our hope that those difficulties are now resolved, and that all subscribers are now able to receive the Town Crier without further interruption.

Waste Management Customers: Bulky Item Week
The quarterly free bulk item pickup week will be the week of June 19th for households in the Waste Management Trash Program with the town. Please have your eligible item curbside at 7 a.m. on your regular trash day during this week. There is a list of acceptable items available on the towns' website<http://www.easton.ma.us/easton_residents/trash_pickup_and_recycling/docs/WM_Bulk_item_list.pdf> or you can call the DPW at the phone number dedicated for Trash-related questions (508) 230-0888.

June 21:  Queset Commercial District Listening Session
Easton's Economic Development Council is kicking off a series of listening sessions with business owners in targeted commercial development areas. The first session, scheduled for June 21, 2017 at 3:30PM is for businesses located in the Queset Commercial District. The session will be held at Frothingham Hall, 15 Barrows Street, Easton, MA. Easton Town Pool Opens Saturday, June 24th at 12:00. Start this summer with a splash!
The Easton Town Pool opens for the season on Saturday, June 24th at 12:00, with free admission on opening day! It's a perfect way to start the summer with some fun in the sun! Don't forget to sign up early in order to enjoy the facility as often as possible. This year we have added Weekend Swim Lessons! The Easton Town Pool is a fun filled place that everyone can enjoy. Easton Recreation Department Ultimate Frisbee League - Summer 2017

The Easton Recreation Department is now accepting registrations for the Ultimate Frisbee League for summer 2017. Come out and play one of the most fun and fastest growing sports in North America! Beginners and old huckers alike are invited to play Ultimate Frisbee in Easton this summer. Experienced players will teach the game to beginners and intermediate players. Open to boys and girls entering Grade 8 through Adult. June 28: Health Promotion Clinic
A Health Promotion Clinic for residents of Easton will be held on Wednesday, June 28 from 9:00AM to 11:00AM in the Mary Connolly Room, 2nd Floor, Town Offices, 136 Elm Street, Easton. The clinic will provide Total Cholesterol, Blood Pressure and Diabetic (Blood Sugar) Screenings.  Due to the limited number of appointments available, please call the Board of Health at (508) 230-0620 to schedule an appointment.  No walk-ins will be screened.  The clinic is free of charge and open to any resident 20 years of age or older.

Now through September 30: Phase II Water Restrictions in Place in Easton
Mandatory outside water restrictions are in place from May 1st to September 30th. This action is necessary to be in compliance with the Town's Water Management Act Permit. Phase II restricts water on an even/odd basis as follows:

  *   Customers at even-numbered addresses will be restricted to allow lawn watering only on Monday and Thursday between the hours of 5:00 AM-8:00 AM and 6:00 PM-9:00 PM
  *   Customers at odd-numbered addresses will be restricted to allow lawn watering only on Tuesday and Friday between the hours of 5:00 AM-8:00 AM and 6:00 PM-9:00 PM
Handheld hoses will be allowed anytime.
The Public Health Nurse will be available for Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar screening for Easton Residents (on a walk in basis, no appointment needed) according to the following schedule:

*         Elise Circle Community Room - Tuesday, June 20 (9:30AM-10:30AM)

*         Town Hall (136 Elm St., Mary Connolly Room, 2nd Floor) - Monday, June 26 (3PM-4PM)

*         Parker Terrace Community Room - Tuesday, July 11 (9:30AM-10:30AM)

*         Frothingham Hall - COA (15 Barrows St) Thursday, July 13 (10:30AM-11:30AM)

Community News and Events
June 18: 23rd Annual Father's Day Road Race and Family Fun Walk

The annual Father's Day Road Race has become a staple for many families south of Boston. The road race offers three choices: 5k and 10K runs, and a 5k non-competitive Fun Walk allowing participants to choose their pace and distance that suits their ability. The 5K and 10K courses can be viewed on the website: Father's Day Road Race<http://childrensmuseumineaston.org/fathers-day-road-race>. All of the things that have made this annual fundraiser an exciting family event for all are back again this year including: T-shirts available to ALL runners who register by June 5, 2017, child care for pre-registered runners, cash prizes, runner goody bags, food and music. This race is a great tradition to start your Father's Day Holiday. Registration begins at 7:30 AM the day of the race. Beat the crowds and register online at the link above: $25 pre-registered, $30 the day of the race and $10 for walkers.

June 21 - Queset Garden Music Series: Riverboat Stompers

On Wednesday, June 21, from 6:30PM-8:00PM at the Queset Garden, come join us for a performance by the Riverboat Stompers, led by Easton resident Dr. Steve Straus.  The Riverboat Stompers have been delighting New England audiences for over twenty-five years.  Whether you call it Dixieland early, New Orleans, or trad jazz, their infectious energy and pulsing rhythms will get your feet shuffling, head bobbing, and fingers snapping.  It's a listening, learning and laughing experience for the whole family so come early and bring a picnic.  Free and open to all.  Sponsored by the Easton Lions Club.
June 25: Fourth Annual Legacy Art/Music/Food/Fun Festival
Join us June 25 from Noon-5:00PM at the Governor Oliver Ames Estate, 35 Oliver Street, North Easton for the 4th Annual Art/Music/Food/Fun Festival.  This event is free and open to the public - rain or shine.  Major events include:

*         Juried Artist and Artisans Faire

*         Juried Junior Art Exhibition - Age 18 and under

*         Music tent featuring several local musical artists

*         Children's activities including Auntie ZaZa's Corner, Balloon Creations and Face Painting with Alleyoop Rentals; Cookie Monster Lives with Dolce Cupcakes; Pots and Herbs with Flourish; interactive art projects for children with the Children's Museum;

August 28: Touch a Truck!
Monday, August 28, 2017 from 6:00PM-7:00PM at the Queset House 51 Main Street, North Easton. For everyone who has ever wondered what a special vehicle looks like close-up, the library is presenting Touch a Truck! Several vehicles from the Town of Easton, the Easton Fire Department, and the Easton Police will be parked at the library so you can see all of the details, hear what they sound like, and even touch their shiny finish. Also, bring a picnic and enjoy the Queset Garden on your last Monday before school starts!
