Holiday Hours
In observance of the New Year, the Town Offices will be closed Monday, January 1, 2018 and closing at 7:30PM Tuesday, January 2, 2018. Happy Holidays!
Department of Public Works - Christmas Trees
Residents can dispose of their Christmas trees by bringing them to the Department of Public Works at 130 Center Street, North Easton during the month of January. There will be a designated spot to the left of the building for trees. Please remove plastic bags and all ornaments. Have a safe and happy Holiday.
January 19:  Deadline 12PM to apply for an Absentee Ballot - Special Town Election
Absentee Ballots for the Special Town Election are now available at the Town Clerk's Office. Absentee Ballots are available for registered voters who will be unable to vote at the polls on Election Day due to absence from the Town during normal polling hours, physical disability preventing them from going to the polling place or religious belief. Registered voters must fill out an application<https://eastontownma.documents-on-demand.com/Document/b5791743-ccbd-e711-80bf-001fbc00ed85/Absentee%20Ballot%20Application%20-%202018%20Easton.pdf>, which will allow them to complete an absentee ballot at the Town Clerks office or to have one mailed to them. (Absentee ballots cannot be picked up and taken from the Clerk's Office). The deadline for applying for an absentee ballot is Friday, January 19, 2018 at 12:00 Noon. Mailed ballots must be received back at the Town Clerks Office by the close of polls on Election Day (3PM on Saturday, January 20th). Get out and vote. YOUR VOTE DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Now through March 2:  Deadline to Obtain Nomination Papers for Annual Town Election
Nomination papers for the Annual Town Election are available beginning Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the Town Clerks office. The last day to obtain nomination papers is Friday, March 2, 2018 at 5:00 PM. Now through February 28:  2018 Dog Licensing
Dog licenses for 2018 are now available and must be completed BEFORE March 1st to avoid late fees. A current rabies certificate must be on file with the Town Clerk's Office in order to license your dog. To update your rabies on file please email<mailto:townclerksoffice at easton.ma.us> a copy to townclerksoffice at easton.ma.us<mailto:townclerksoffice at easton.ma.us>.
You may license your dog in one of the following ways:

*        License ONLINE<https://unipaygold.unibank.com/transactionInfo.aspx?CustomerID=657&TransID=22092> (.25 bank convenience fee with electronic check) and your licenses and tags will be mailed directly to you ($1.00 postage & handling fee).

*        License in Person - You may stop by the Town Clerks Office during normal business hours. (Mondays 8:30AM - 7:30PM, Tues/Wed/Thur 8:30AM - 4:30PM, Fri 8:30AM-12:30P)

Free Easton Community
Easton Community Calendars covering September 2017 through August 2018 are now available at the Town Offices, Ames Free Library, Easton Historical Society, Frothingham Memorial Hall, and all Easton branches of North Easton Savings Bank. Town information, school events, and civic organization happenings are included. The FREE calendars are provided by North Easton Savings Bank, for the residents of Easton.
The Public Health Nurse will be available for Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar screening for Easton Residents (on a walk in basis, no appointment needed) according to the following schedule:

*        Elise Circle Community Room - Tuesday, January 16 (9:30AM-10:30AM)

*        Town Hall (136 Elm St., Mary Connolly Room, 2nd Floor) - Monday, January 22 (3PM-4PM)

*        Parker Terrace Community Room - Tuesday, January 2 (9:30AM-10:30AM)

*        Frothingham Hall - COA (15 Barrows St) Thursday, January 11 (10:30AM-11:30AM)

Ames Free Library - Zentangle at the Library
Zentangle is a relaxing drawing method utilizing structured patterns to create beautiful images. Participants are encouraged to teach one pattern to the rest of the group, but if you do not want to do this, and just want to learn new patterns or Zentangle on your own in a group environment, that is fine. Please come join us anyway; no pressure, that's the Zentangle way!  Debbie Adduci will teach one new pattern of this meditative and mindful drawing technique each meeting. Ames Free Library - Converting Slides & Negatives to Digital Every Tuesday at Queset House
Come learn how at the Ames Free Library - Queset House. Pat will show you how to use the library's simple scanner to help preserve those memories. Register online for your one-on-one session. Every Tuesday from 10:30AM - 12:30PM. Location: Queset House, 2nd Floor Digital Media Lab.
Easton Historical Commission - Preservation Awards & Photography Competition
Please join the Easton Historical Commission for the 18th Annual Preservation Awards and Photography Competition on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 3PM-5PM at Oakes Ames Memorial Hall. Recipients of the Chaffin Award (for an individual making a significant contribution to historic preservation in Easton), the Briggs Award (for a building or landscape preservation or restoration project significant to Easton's historical integrity) and the Boston Post Cane (for Easton's oldest resident) will be announced at the event. Awards also will be given and entries displayed for photographs taken in Easton, on the themes of historic places, historic landscapes, people, or pets. Join us every Saturday 10AM-2PM through the winter at the Oakes Ames Memorial Hall, 3 Barrows Street, North Easton. Our vendors this week:  Captivating Twists Bakery (European-style cookies); Foxboro Cheese Company (cheese & dairy-based products); Bridgewater Village Bakery (breads and desserts); Velo Urbano (coffee & bike repair); Rosie Bud Farms (honey & bee-based products); Shamrock Farms (meats); and Oakdale Farms (produce); and All hands In (non-profit natural personal care products that provide for women survivors of human trafficking).
