Office Hours Congressman Stephen F. Lynch: Staff member Nicholas Zaferakis will be on hand Wednesday, Nov. 4th to meet with constituents between 9am to 11am in the Mary Connolly Rm, 2nd Fl., Town Offices, 136 Elm St., N. Easton. No appointment needed. 

Ames Free Library Book Brigade. Help the Library transfer books from 15 Barrows St. to the Ames Free Library as they begin the move back to their building at 53 Main. Renovations expected to be completed end October. A human chain will be formed to transfer books Saturday Nov 7th from 9am to 12 noon. Rain date Sunday Nov. 8th 2pm to 5pm. No sign up needed - just show up!

Important Reminder:
The second quarter Real Estate Bill is due on or before November 2nd, 2009. All taxpayers received the payment stub for this payment when the preliminary bill was mailed June 30th. It was attached with the August payment stub. Due on or before November 2nd, 2009 - must be received in the Collector's Office by November 2nd - postmarks of November 2nd are not acceptable. 

Have you recently been notified that your property is located within a flood plain? You may need a copy of your flood insurance map. Visit the FEMA website here <http://msc.fema.gov/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/FemaWelcomeView?storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&langId=-1> . You can print a FIRMette (small-scale, printer-friendly Flood Insurance Rate map) for free! Large -format flood maps may also be ordered online directly from FEMA. For more information contact the FEMA Map Servicing Center via email <mailto:FEMA-MSCservice at dhs.gov>  or call 1-800-359-9616.
Effective November 9, 2009, the Department of Planning & Community Development will charge $5 for copies of flood maps, or to produce FIRMette maps. As noted above, FIRMettes will continue to be available for free on the FEMA website; hard copies of the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) can also be reviewed at the Department of Planning & Community Development.

The Community Preservation Committee is accepting proposals for projects under the Community Preservation Act for FY2011 for consideration at May 2010 Annual Town Meeting.
